The City on the Circle
Located in the Heart of Florida, Sebring, Florida is the county seat of Highlands County. With a population of a little over 11,000 full time residents, it is 135’ above sea level. It is also centrally located to either coast and within an hour or two to the big cities of Miami, Tampa and Orlando. Residents of Sebring, however, live a different lifestyle that is considered to be more “laid back”. Although quiet in most respects, the city has much to offer. Known as the “City on the Circle” downtown Sebring has a year round calendar of activities including entertaining festivities held on “The Circle”. Everything from the Soda Festival, Craft Beer festival, Arts Festival, and during the Christmas season you can find the Carousal of Lights and Christmas on the Circle. Each year seems to bring more activities and more fun. Downtown Sebring also offers many galleries, boutiques, fine and casual dining including a soda shop with over 300 varieties of soda, Highlands Little Theater, and the City Pier on the shores of Lake Jackson. The “12 Hours of Sebring” is a week long event at the Sebring International Raceway held in March of every yea., Bring your camper and stay inside the park or make reservations at the Hotel “Seven” found there. Lake Jackson is located in the center of Sebring and is a 10,000 acre deep fresh water lake, great for fishing or fun in the sun. If you are more of the adventurous sole, than spend a day at Highlands Hammock State Park with miles of trails or at Lake Istokpoga Park, Florida’s 5th largest freshwater lake, where at least one alligator can be spotted while enjoying a nature walk on the boardwalk where scenic views and a picnic area are found. If you have a different sport you are fond of, then try your luck at one of the dozens of golf courses in the area. Sebring, Florida offers something for everyone in the family.
